What is Qigong or Chigong?
Qigong is a popular Ancient Chinese exercise dating back to more than 2000 B.C. It is an energy exercise said to be like moving meditation with slow breathing and slow gentle movements. Uniquely different than Tai Chi in that it can be done standing, seated or lying down. Similar to Yoga except no strenuous postures thus they can be married together because of their similarities. Chi or Qi means energy and Gong means practice or discipline. Thus it is an energy exercise that reduces stress and strengthens the body. It can be practiced by the whole family. Modern times indicate that Qigong for singles, children and elderly has become popular because it increases focus, concentration and improves health.
